How do I search for only newer materials?

In Quick Find go to Advanced Search. You'll see there is a "Publication date" drop down menu which allows you to select a time frame (for example specific date range, last 2 years, last 5 years, last 10 years). This will limit your search results to the specified time span.
You can also limit your results using the "Publication date" filter along the left-hand side of the results page, which allows you to set a range of acceptable dates.
